WE UNDERSTAND THE IMPORTANCE OF PROPER VENTILATION
Ventilation is a vitally important part of modern buildings these days, especially in our post-covid landscape, but what does ventilation actually mean? Ventilation refers to the provision of fresh air to a building and also the extraction of air from that building. During the recent covid pandemic, it was recognised that poor building ventilation in many buildings was a contributing factor in people not being able to occupy that building for fear of virus transmission. With better ventilation in buildings, occupants of those buildings can breathe a little easier knowing the building is as safe as it can be.
Why is ventilation so important? Ventilation removes air from a room, or building, and replaces it with outside air. This can reduce the levels of CO2, moisture and other contaminants such as bacteria, viruses, mould or pollen etc which may be present in your building. Good ventilation will assist greatly in reducing the level of these contaminants in your premises. The outside air is filtered before being delivered into your room, so you will experience lower levels of these contaminants within the building. Provision of fresh air in buildings is covered by Part F of the Building Regulations (part F2 as of June 2022) and all new or refurbished buildings must take this into account. WHY VENTILATION MATTERS
IMPROVED HEALTH AND A MORE COMFORTABLE WORKING OR LIVING ENVIRONMENT
INTERNAL AIR QUALITY
IS THE AIR IN YOUR BUILDING OK?
The industry talks about Indoor Air Quality, or IAQ, and this is the term given to the air in your building and how safe it is. How safe is the air you’re breathing in your shop, office, restaurant, or pub? Our ventilation systems can improve your IAQ significantly, removing contaminants, filtering incoming air, and ensuring that the air you and your team breathe isn’t causing you harm.
KEEPING YOU HEALTHY
REDUCING VIRUS TRANSMISSION
Have you or your office colleague ever felt tired in the afternoon or do people often get headaches? There could be lots of reasons, but a common one is poor IAQ caused by a lack of ventilation. Has someone come in to work with a cold or virus and before you know it, half the office has it? Perhaps this transmission could have been reduced greatly by better ventilation in your office.
REMOVING LINGERING ODOURS
Is there an occasional smell or lingering odour which you can’t seem to get rid of? Does your room or building feel ‘stuffy’? Proper ventilation can take care of that too! By installing a proper ventilation system, air circulation improves hugely which can help to deal with issues such as lingering odours and stuffiness, providing you with a more pleasant environment.
