The F-Gas Regulation
From 4th July 2007, without even knowing it, you could be breaking the law if you are running any air conditioning systems at your premises.
From that date you will have new legal obligations with regard to the operation and maintenance of any such systems.
Why?
Basically it’s because that’s the date when the “F-Gas Regulation” comes into effect and, because nearly all air conditioning systems contain F-gases, it means that, as the “operator”, you will be required to:
• take “all measures which are technically feasible and do not entail disproportionate cost”, to prevent leakage
• arrange a check for leakage at least once every 12 months if the system contains 3kg or more of refrigerant
• repair any leaks detected as soon as possible
• keep a record of the type and quantity of F-gas you have in your systems, any quantities added and the quantity recovered during servicing, maintenance and final disposal.
But, as specialists in the service and maintenance of air conditioning, we can take care of it all for you.
